Sneak Preview #11: Rab Men's Jannu Jacket and Rab Men's Boulder Jacket

The last couple of days haven't half been nice, blissful sunshine, an ice cold beer in the garden and the recommencing of the Football season, although being a lower league fan, I'd argue it started 2 weeks ago! Back at Outdoorkit Towers we're seeing plenty of shiny new Autumn/Winter stock arrive, contrasting the weather outside at the moment slightly! However, we all know the British weather can turn at the drop of the hat, so getting yourself sorted out with a waterproof and a lusciously warm jacket in preparation is never a bad thing!

It's always good to see the favourites drop in again, like the classic ribbed Rab Microlight Jacket, with a couple of new colours thrown in to boot, the 'Tempest' this season is rather slick. However it's two new AW12 pieces we're going to have a closer peek at today.

First up we have a big hitting down jacket in the shape of the Rab Men's Jannu Jacket. With a healthy 800 fill goose down insulation, it's well equipped to take on the harshest of Winter weathers. Constructed with a Pertex Endurance outer, the Jannu is highly water resistant, windproof and breathable without any added weight. The jacket has also been made with a box wall construction to help reduce cold spots.

Neptune

Spec wise the Jannu features a 2-way YKK Vislon Aquaguard front zip with an internal insulated baffle and chin guard for extra comfort. Staying on the YKK zip front, it also has 2 napoleon chest pockets, both more than a sufficient size to keep any maps, documents and accessories safely packed away. There's also an internal security pocket for your more expensive items and gadgets. On the sleeves you get articulated elbows for excellent dexterity and velcro cuffs for a secure and precise fit around your arms, also helping to eliminate any of those pesky breezes riding up your arms.

Black

We're expecting the Jannu to land around the first week of November. When in stock it'll cost £269.99. For such a well insulated and spec'd Down Jacket, it also only weighs in at 860g. We've got two colours coming in; Neptune and Black.

Also new in for this Autumn/Winter, although more of a reworking than a completely new piece, we've got the Rab Men's Boulder Jacket. A full zipped version of the Pull On, the Boulder Jacket uses a warm and lofty Polartec Thermo Pro fabric in the body and Power Stretch in the underarms, cuff and collar areas, for optimum freedom of movement and overall wearer comfort. It comes with a YKK front zip and flatlock low bulk seams for fantastic next to skin comfort.

Zest

Two hand pockets provide the perfect place to keep your smaller accessories hidden away and a zipped chest pocket is ideal for keeping a map and other documents close to hand. The Boulder's high collar keeps the maximum amount of warmth in, as do the integrated thumb loops on the sleeves.

Marin

Like the Jannu Jacket, we're expecting the Rab Men's Boulder Jacket in to Outdoorkit HQ around the first month of November, so make sure you keep a look out! We've got it due in four modern colours; Marin, Zest, Black and Charge. It costs £89.99 and weighs in at 560g.
